Thanksgiving weekend recap:

• No Michael, no Katie, no Jennifer, no Austin, no Aunt Jean. I missed them all a lot more than I let on. Still, it was a good weekend.

• The boys and I stayed the night at Mom's Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. As much as I would've loved to have gotten up Thursday morning and drank Dew in front of the fireplace before the sun came up, it didn't work out that way. I was woken up by the phone ringing at like 8:15 in the morning. It was daylight.

• I drank my Dew in front of the fireplace anyway.

• Dinner was phenomenal. Mom & Aunt Janet did awesome with it!

• Since Black Friday doesn't exactly exist anymore (since everything opens Thursday), we didn't make any Black Friday shopping plans. However, after the boys, Dan, and I left Mom's house Thursday night, we did hit up a couple stores just to see what's up. Walmart was a zoo -- we didn't stick around.

• Friday we hit Target and Toys R Us. We actually got some amazing deals on things at Target because of the sale prices, plus we got additional money off due to coupons we had. It doesn't hurt that we weren't looking for big-ticket items anyway, so everything we wanted was still in stock. Score!

• Went to Mom's Friday afternoon/evening to continue eating. And eating. And eating some more.

• Friday night, I had a stomach ache from eating too much. But I really wanted pie. So I took some Tums, got rid of the stomach ache, and proceeded to eat the pie. Because that's just how I roll at Thanksgiving apparently.

• Edgar showed up Friday night too. He brought the boys a Spiderman toy they'd been eyeballing at Toys R Us for awhile, because the Star Wars Advent Calendar he usually brings them is unavailable at the time.....  It took the boys at least 20 minutes Saturday morning to finally notice their new toy and the Elf. But it was cute when they finally did discover it.

• Liz and I went to the gym Saturday morning. I love that the Y has an indoor track so I don't have to do the treadmill (not that the track is significantly better, but I still prefer it over a treadmill if available). I ran and ran and ran and ran and ran.... it felt amazing. And I did a little weight work too.

• I'm telling myself I reversed all the calorie damage I did Thursday & Friday.

• Saturday night, the boys stayed the night at Mom's so Dan & I could go out to dinner with Kerry & her new dude. We had a great time!

• The majority of today was spent cleaning house. Dishes, laundry, organizing.... the boys were AMAZING! They played so well together for the majority of the day. I credit Edgar for this.... but really, they did have a good day together.

• 25 days till Christmas. Guess I better start shopping.

• And thus endeth NaBloPoMo 2014. I fail.
