Time to play blog catch-up! Let's start with Boyne (October 7-10).
Ahhh Boyne! It was busy, busy, busy, yet I managed to carve out some time to have fun, fun, fun.
I left town around 7:45am Tuesday after dropping Evan off at daycare and arrived at Boyne around 11:30am (I stopped once). I was insanely busy Tuesday afternoon getting Registration set up, but I hadn't seen my dad in several months so I made sure to get over there for dinner Tuesday evening. We ate at this amazing bar at Torch Lake. I had codfish nuggets and sweet potato fries. The tarter sauce was fan-freaking-tastic! I wanted more codfish nuggets, just to use as a conduit to get the tarter sauce into my mouth. I also enjoyed a nice visit with Dad & Jackie.
I didn't make it to the zip-line or the ski lift either evening this year -- but I did manage to snag two free beers from hospitality night before dinner Wednesday. So I think I would call that a success!
Thursday evening, I made an appointment at the spa at the resort to have my nails done. I had intended to do that before leaving for Boyne, but ran out of time. And we were headed to Indianapolis Friday for Jennifer & Austin's wedding. It was a nice little "getaway" from my work getaway.
With Sean being in Jennifer's wedding, it should've come as no surprise to me when Dan called me Thursday evening to tell me Sean was sick. Yes. Of course he's sick. He has to be in a wedding in less than 48 hours and I'm not stressed enough....
Thankfully, it was short-lived (and not strep) because by the time I got home Friday, he was totally well & good. Just a cold. I actually left Boyne at like 6:45am Friday morning, drove 3-1/2 hours home, unpacked, repacked, picked up the boys, then drove 3-1/2 hours to Indianapolis....
.... more on that later.
