Four boys + three women + two dogs = one EPIC sleepover!

So last night, my friends Liz & Amy and I decided to take Colin & Jackson overnight for a sleepover with Sean & Evan. We had originally hoped to take the four boys to a corn maze, but those plans were shot when the weather opted not to cooperate. So we went with pizza and Mario Kart on the Wii in Liz's basement instead.

We all survived the night, virtually unscathed. All four boys slept in the basement in sleeping bags, and I slept on the basement floor next to Evan because he was being unusually clingy. Unfortunately he woke up the next morning with a fever (which I was sure was strep throat when he kept saying his neck hurts).

After a dose of ibuprofen and breakfast, he was acting totally normal so we proceeded to Michigan State for the Dino Dash, where Dan and I were registered to run the 5K.

I, however, didn't run it because I'm nursing a small stress fracture, so I gave my bib to Liz -- who, in trying to keep up with Dan, ended up running her best time ever!  Dan also completely and totally rocked it, coming in with an official time of 30:31 (9:51/mile). I am so, so, so, so proud of him!!!

Sean did the kids mile (it wasn't timed, but he was somewhere in the 12 minute range). Leave it to my kid to stop along the course to enjoy nature.... he brought back an acorn he found and was extremely proud of his discovery!

After the Dino Dash, I took Evan to Urgent Care to get swabbed for strep.... which came back positive. So now we get to do 10 days of antibiotics.

Sick Evan now is no different than Sick Evan as a baby -- he never gets the "sick" memo. Kid is still moving at 100 mph. And his timing is impeccable because I'm leaving for Boyne in two days, so yeah. This will be fun, taking a half day off work tomorrow (Dan is taking the other half). But at least that should give me some packing time....
