Our calendar was completely empty this weekend, which seems to be a rarity these days. So what'd we do? We filled it up with fun stuff!

On Saturday, Kerry & I were texting back & forth because that's what Kerry & I do all the live long day. We text. Anyway, she mentioned she had to get her nails done and she hadn't told her boys yet (because you know how those 5 & 7 year old boys just love to sit in nail salons so much, that she was afraid they'd be begging to go to the salon NOW and just would nag & nag & nag about "When are we leaving for the nail salon! I want to go pick a color! Mooooooooommmmmmmm!!!!").

HA!

Anyway, I told her to bring the boys here so they could play with Sean and she could do that thing where she actually enjoyed her mani/pedi, rather than play referee over the iPhone and Nintendo DS during a foot massage. And so she did. It was fun! We had McDonalds for lunch, then I put Evan down for a nap and took the three older boys to the playground(s) behind our house while Kerry enjoyed her well-deserved mani/pedi.

This morning, after we all got up & around, Dan said we should go to the zoo. Awesome idea, Daddy! The weather was perfect and not many people were there (it was filling up when we left at noon). And the tiger was outside roaring away, causing Evan to cling to me for dear life. It really was a lovely day for a walk through the zoo (the above picture is from inside the petting farm at the zoo).

As we told Evan what all the animals were, he would repeat them with surprising clarity. But my favorite was "pea-pock" (peacock). He ran all over the zoo saying, "pea-pock." But he wouldn't go near a pea-pock for anything, haha!
