We made it to Florida! Whew.
Evan is not nearly as good a traveler as Sean was/is. He wasn't unbearable, thank goodness, but I can't say it was an easy or fun flight. Let's forget for just a moment that the plane was overbooked and HOT. Man, it was warm on that plane. But Evan was bored and there really wasn't anything we could do to keep him entertained when all he wanted to do was get down and wander the aisle. So Dan & I spent the whole flight passing him back & forth and stuffing anything we could into his mouth to keep him from screaming.
Sean, on the other hand, was fine. He didn't sleep as he has on previous flights, but he was easily entertained and sat quietly the whole time.
When we arrived at the airport, Mom & Cathy met us there and took the boys back to the house so Evan could go to bed. He was SPENT! Then Dan & I got our rental car and headed toward the house where Sean was still up waiting for us (it was nearly 10:00 by the time we got here to the house).
This afternoon after Evan's nap..... (side note: he's sleeping in a crib in mine & Dan's walk-in closet, hahaha! It's really quite cozy, actually. And last night, Sean was too scared to sleep in the "Mickey Mouse room" by himself, so he slept in the king bed with me, and Dan slept in the Mickey Mouse room. Musical beds here.) So anyway, after Evan's nap, we (me, Dan, Sean, Evan, Mom, and Cathy) went to Downtown Disney. Except Sean had spent the couple hours while Evan was sleeping, playing in the pool and hot tub....
... so he was exhausted by the time we left for Downtown Disney and fell asleep on the way there. Then he seemed to develop a fever (he'd been complaining of stomach pain for the past few days) and couldn't stay awake (!). So after we purchased our La Nouba tickets for Tuesday night (YAY!!), Mom & Cathy took Sean home, while Dan, Evan, and I continued to explore Downtown Disney.
Dan found Star Wars stuff (of course)...
And he gave Evan a one-on-one lesson in Storm Troopers...
Then we came back to the house where Sean was feeling much, much better. We had pizza and are now watching the Superbowl. Evan is in his closet. Sean is back in my bed (I think we might have started a trend for this week, haha!).
Tomorrow: Legoland (if Sean is okay)
