Sean's school open house was on the 27th. We got to meet his teacher (although, we already knew her) and he got to see all his school friends again. Funny story: we walked up to the school for the open house -- and when we got there, we found out they were giving away some older desks that they had replaced with newer ones. Dan decided he liked the desks and wanted two of them for our basement. So we walked home, each of us carrying a desk. How funny that must've looked like to the neighbors, HAHA. Thankfully they were light, but I still counted that walk home as my workout for the day.

Labor Day weekend. It was a fun weekend -- last weekend before school started. On Monday, we took the boys to the zoo. It was gorgeous zoo weather! Afterward, we went to the mall to pick up some things, and let the boys do the indoor bungee jumping thing. They both had a BLAST with it!
On the train at the zoo -- Evan's glasses came in too! Isn't he adorable? |

Sean's first day of school! It was only a half day, so I took the day off. We picked him up at 12:15, then met Kerry and her boys at a restaurant for lunch where we enjoyed an AMAZING ice cream & cookie dessert!

Frontier Days! I ran the 5K for the 3rd year -- but this year, I rocked it! For two reasons: 1) this was the first official race I ran the entire distance without walking at all; and 2) I logged my best time on any run I've ever done, training or otherwise. According to MapMyRun, I completed 3.22 miles in 35:37 for an average pace of 11:04/mile. Best. Run. Evah.
(edited to add: The official race results were posted and they have me finishing in 35:07.9 for a 11:20/mile -- not as good as I thought I did, but still better than I've ever done, I think....)

After that, we watched the parade, went to Aunt Janet's for lunch, then I took the boys to the park to play with Sophia. Melinda stayed at the park with all the kids so I could putz around the craft show for a little bit.
Overall, it was an awesome day!!
