Ummm.... okay.... gotta play catch-up here, so this is going to be a two-week hodgepodge of randomness. My computer was (is) really messed up which is why I haven't written in this space in two weeks.

July 18-19
Mom's birthday was fun! I arranged for myself, Aunt Janet, and several of her closest friends to meet for dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. She knew about me, Aunt Janet, and Cathy being there, but it was fun watching her face as four of her other girlfriends showed up (three others were invited but couldn't make it). It was a lovely evening, laughing and dining alfresco.

The next morning, the family went to breakfast for her birthday -- also jolly good fun.

July 20
I won a free registration to a local 10K so I ran it on the 20th. It was my first official 10K and I had a personal goal to finish in less than 1 hr, 20 min. I finished in 1:18:33. I was/am completely thrilled with my time!

Afterward, I was exhausted and hot. So of course it was a gorgeous day to take the kids to the park with the beach. Evan spent more time in the sand than in the water, while Sean spent more time in the water than in the sand (unless, of course, it was snack time -- then he was all about being outside the water).

July 21
Sean began swimming lessons..... again. He's MUCH more into it this time around than he was in past lessons. He puts his face in the water, and he allows the instructors to lure him away from the wall -- neither of which he'd do a year ago. And best of all, he jumped off the ledge without someone catching him! He went underwater and came back up and I was just so proud to see him do that! He's definitely into swimming now.

July 22
Sean had his final T-ball game of the season. He has drastically improved this season! Dan actually went out and got him a bunch of T-ball gear and spent a lot of time helping him practice between games. It was/is very adorable watching Dan coach Sean.

July 26
WARRIOR DASH! Those obstacles were no joke this year, and I got ridiculously muddy. But wow. I would've done the whole race again, just to do the Goliath obstacle another time (it's in the background of this picture)! Sometimes I don't even know my own strength....

July 27 (today)
Dan is on changeover so he had to work all day yesterday and today. I'm grateful to Aunt Janet for keeping the boys last night while I was doing that crazy mud run with my friends. After I woke up this morning, I went to pick up the boys and we went grocery shopping.....  Then I decided to take the boys to see a movie (Planes: Fire & Rescue). Evan -- he's not an easy moviegoer. He got bored and antsy. During the previews, he kept asking when the movie was starting, then about 20 minutes into the movie, he kept asking when it was done. He was on my lap and off my lap and on my lap and off my lap. Thankfully it's a relatively short movie. And thankfully Sean is an awesome moviegoer. He was quiet and content the whole time. The movie was actually pretty fun! But I think it'll be awhile before I attempt to take Evan to the theater again.
