Many of my Facebook friends are doing a "30 days of thankful" thing, where each day in November they are posting something they're thankful for. I haven't done it because it's too much of a commitment to have to post something on Facebook every day (you get the irony here, right?). So I figure since I really have nothing particularly interesting to write about today, I'll do 15 of my 30 days right here, and the other 15 another day. So here it goes in no particular order:

30 Things for Which I'm Thankful, Part One
(I should note that most of these things, I'm truly thankful for every single day of my life -- it never escapes me how blessed I really am)

1. The family who raised me. I was born into an amazing family They're strong and supportive and loving. They have caught me every time I've fallen (but let me fall when I needed to), and that's why I can now fly on my own.

2. The family I've created: my husband and children. Three of the most precious people in my life.

3. Dan's family. His parents and brother & sister-in-law and nephews have become my family. You can't have too many people who love you that you want to love back.

4. My friends. I have no idea how I'd survive without Kerry, Kim, Kerri, Danielle, Katy, Becky... and countless others!

5. Our home. We live in a small but perfectly adorable cape cod. It's gone beyond being just a house, and is truly our home. I talk about wanting something bigger, but right now, when it comes down to it, I'm too attached to this.

6. Our mortgage payment. We live in a small home, and therefore have a small mortgage payment.

7. My job. I have a job I really enjoy! Going to work every day is not something I dread. Not everyone can say as much.

8. My coworkers. I work with some awesome people who absolutely help make work someplace I don't dread going. This includes my boss.

9. Mt. Dew. 'Nuff said.

10. Living in America. I can pray without going to jail, and I can vote at every election. I have friends who are black, white, Asian, middle-eastern, Hispanic, gay, straight, Christian, atheist.... and I'm allowed to be friends with every one of them!

11. Bedtime with my boys. I love reading stories with them every evening and getting bedtime snuggles.

12. Sean's school. We got him into a really good school with good teachers and a phenomenal principal. I'm thankful for it every day.

13. The ability to exercise. I really do enjoy it!

14. Vacations. We're blessed to be able to take the vacations we take. Especially with the family (refer to items 1 & 2).

15. Oreo cookies.
