Mah-der.

Yeah, that's what Evan calls me now. Mah-der. That's Evanese for "mother."

Not mama.
Not mommy.
I'm mah-der.

If it wasn't so darn cute, I'd probably be sad about it -- I'm too young to be a mother. Mama, sure. Mommy, absolutely. But mother? No way! I hope he goes back to "mama" soon.

Dan is on changeover this week. Other than his crazy long hours, which is normal, things have been running really quite smoothly on our end.

Well, except for the part where my car battery died yesterday after work and I had to call roadside service to come rescue me from the roof of the parking ramp. It's my own fault, really -- when I had my oil changed a few weeks ago, the guy told me I needed a new battery. But of course I thought he was just trying to sell me crap because that's what oil change people do, so I nodded & smiled and told him I'd tell my husband.

Ummm.... I think he was serious!

Thankfully my regular mechanic was still open so once I was jumped, I was able to pop in there and get my battery changed. My awesome "mah-der" picked up the boys and met me with them at the car shop, and we got home in time to make macaroni & cheese for dinner, then go outside for a game of horseshoes.

Sean won. He's really good!
