Oh crap, they've done some upgrades (I assume) to Blogger and now it looks all different on my end -- no idea what I'm doing here now but I'm going to try to write a post anyway....

Other than my shameless Aquaphor promotion earlier this week, I haven't done a post since April 9th. I suck. But I really want to recap the past couple weeks so I can have everything in writing when it comes time to argue about what we did and when. So... here goes:

Sean had his second dentist appointment last week. 20 teeth, no cavities. He was a bit more anxious this time for some reason, but he did well. He liked holding the sucky thingy:

We also had Dan & Aunt Janet's birthday party last week. I'm not quite sure how old either of them are because both of them are just big kids at heart! It was fun though....

Last weekend -- The boys and I stayed at my Mom's house Friday & Saturday night so Dan could finish painting the basement floor with whatever special paint he uses that causes noxious fumes. Plus he did some other odds & ends in the house, as we're continuing to prepare it to list.

Friday night, I got to go to the movies with Kerry to see Hunger Games. Loved it!!

Saturday, I took Evan in for bloodwork and found out he inherited his Daddy's awesome veins, which made the whole experience practically tear-free. And Evan did well too!

During the week, we contacted our third and final realtor. We wanted to get three different opinions..... We'll meet with her next week and go from there. The news isn't good based on the first two realtors -- worse than I expected.

We also learned Wednesday, that the local public elementary school behind our house, where Sean was scheduled to attend Kindergarten (if he doesn't get drawn in the lottery for the charter academy I applied to) is closing. That's a whole long story in and of itself, but the short version is: it wasn't even on the chopping block so everyone was blindsided, and the district waited until after almost all local school-of-choice application deadlines had passed to make the announcement. Which means everyone is kind of stuck scrambling unless they want to send their kid to the school where they're routing those children. The school where those children will attend is a K-8 public magnet school, and I refuse -- REFUSE -- to send my barely-five year old to a school in this area that also has 13 & 14 year olds. No! No! No! Not happening. So, we're exploring other options, of which we have several.

I will also confess, I read the Fifty Shades trilogy -- I finished it last week. (Don't worry, no spoilers here). I personally thought it was fantastic. Could've used a lot less of "those" scenes, but I can see how many of "those" scenes were necessary to the story itself in order to get inside Christian's head. It was romantic in its own twisted way, and I thought it had a really good message somewhere amongst all that messed-upness (or freaky-deakyness as Kerry would say, HAHAHA!)

I think that hits all the highlights of the past couple weeks....

Today was Sean's first soccer game. He scored two goals -- and one was even for his own team!!  I think watching four-year olds play soccer is freakin' adorable!!!  But next week, we have to remember to cut off his liquid intake an hour before the game. The kid had to pee not once, but twice within the first half hour we were there. Yep, that was my kid out there on the field, holding his junk, thankyouverymuch.
