Last Saturday afternoon, Dan decided to make cookies. No idea why, really. He had started cleaning out the kitchen cupboards and discovered a bunch of baking stuff that he felt needed to be made into cookies. My husband gets distracted by chocolate chips and baking soda, what can I say?
He was missing a few things though so he decided to run to Target. He offered to take Sean but Sean wanted to stay home with me, which surprised me because Sean typically likes to run these errands with his Daddy.
About an hour later, Dan calls sounding both amused and annoyed at the same time. He'd been in a car accident -- some guy hit him from behind.
Awesome.
Thankfully no one was hurt -- it was a pretty minor accident -- and he didn't have the boys or me with him. But now he's without his beloved CRV while it's in the shop being fixed. I was surprised to learn it sustained $2100 worth of damages! Dan is borrowing my Mom's Subaru while she drives her summer 'Stang. Hopefully he'll have his car back this week. Hopefully.
Hey, at least I got my dang cookies!!!
Other than that, the past week has been blissfully uneventful. We all went to work, school, and daycare as scheduled (except on Monday since I had the day off, so me & the boys chilled at home).
Winter showed up Friday -- again -- and is already on its way out -- again -- as the temps creep up into the 40's -- again.
Today, Dan, Mom, Sean, and I went to see Star Wars: Phantom Menace in 3D at the theater while Evan hung out (and napped) at Nana & Papa's house. It was really cool in 3D but Sean got antsy about 3/4 of the way into it. It's a more-than-two-hour movie.... that's a lot of sitting for a 4-year old, especially when they don't truly understand the concept of the movie (heck! I'm 35 and only recently began understanding the concept). But still.... he did well. Ate popcorn & gummy bears and excitedly shouted out all the characters names as they appeared ("Mommy! Look, it's Queen Amadala!"). There were only like 8 other people in the whole theater besides us so we're pretty certain Sean wasn't distracting anyone. And I must confess: I harbor a wee little bit of pride that my 4-year old knows as much about Star Wars as he does.
