SEPT 1
Sean & Evan had dentist appointments. Both of them have very healthy teeth! No cavities!
SEPT 2
We attended the boys' back-to-school open house. Saw their classrooms and teachers. Evan was a bit overwhelmed but he got through it. (as an aside, he's very much enjoying Kindergarten now, and he's apparently doing VERY well! The teacher recently informed me that he's at the top of the class for many subjects!)
SEPT 8
First day of school! (and Sean's birthday of course)
Normally I take the boys to Cheddar's for lunch after the first day of school, but since it was Sean's birthday and we were going out to dinner (at Red Robin -- his choice!), we opted to eat lunch at home. It was a fun afternoon though!
SEPT 13
A celebration of September family birthdays!! Sean, myself, and The Evanator! We had a birthday breakfast at Mom's house followed by presents. The boys got roller skates.
And I got roller skates! And a coloring book! And colored pencils! Not sure if I turned 9 or 39 but it was a super fun birthday!
SEPT 20
Capital City River Run Marathon Relay! I was one of five team members to complete a leg of a 26.2 mile marathon. I had the last and longest leg at 7.25 miles. It was the longest run I'd done since the November 2014 half marathon and it turns out, I'm still dang proud of myself for doing this!
SEPT 26
We had the boys' birthday party at Jumpin' Jax. Not gonna lie: I was slightly disappointed in how everything played out. The venue wasn't as great as I'd hoped (they're under new ownership) and only 11 kids showed up out of over 50 invited! But the boys had a blast which is all that really matters.
After the birthday party, I had to take Sophia back to Judy's. So the boys got to try their hand at fishing in the small pond behind Judy's apartment. Sean caught a small pond fish (though he likes to tell people he caught a large mouth bass -- he'll make a GREAT fisherman some day!!), then freaked out trying to get it back in the water. But the fishy did make it back home. And that was the only bite they got that day.
SEPT 27
The Evanator turns 5. See previous post for details!
SEPT 28
I had my first of five knee injections. It's really not so bad. Little poke & a burn, but then the lidocaine kicks in and I feel nothing. And then I continue feeling nothing for a few blissful hours! No pain. Me likey!
SEPT 29
The boys had eye appointments. They strengthened Evan's glasses prescription and Sean is still color blind (excuse me: color deficient according to the ophthalmologist -- not color blind). But overall, both sets of eyes are very healthy!
SEPT 30
I ran the Relentless Positive Traction 5K downtown. Dan ran this one with me last year, but he hasn't been running much lately so he didn't do it this time. I actually made pretty decent time according to my Garmin -- the race wasn't chip timed, it was just a fun run. And it came with BLING! Unfortunately, I have zero pics from that race! I'm kinda surprised because I typically take a medal pic after races that come with bling.
