Dan & I took the boys to up north this past weekend for Cherry Capital Comic Con. It was actually a super fun weekend! We left Friday night and stayed at a really nice Hampton Inn in Cadillac. Not to sound like an advertisement but seriously, this hotel blew every other hotel in its class out of the water! Clean, very updated, and a phenomenal breakfast! It was a shame we had to leave Saturday morning.

But we did. And we arrived at the Con about a half hour before it opened, so we putzed around.

The boys enjoyed meeting the characters, but were otherwise pretty bored. We got some cute pictures though:

After we'd seen enough Star Wars dudes and super heroes and locally-created comics, we made our way to Dan's parents house for a visit:

We visited a local park where the boys could play for awhile and run off some steam. Evan took a little break and sat with Grandma & Grandpa for this one.

We originally intended to drive back home Saturday night but Dan & I both agreed that we liked the hotel in Cadillac so much, we should probably just go back there for the night and finish the trip home Sunday morning. Yep, it was just better that way.

Truth is, the boys did AWESOME on all the drives because we were never in the car more than two hours at a time. We didn't have to make any stops in between our destinations. Definitely the way to go in the future if time and budget allows!
