Today is Day 1 of 30 of NaBloPoMo 2012 (National Blog Posting Month). So here I go: I'll be posting something in this space every day during the month of November.  Because of this, I decided to put off the Halloween post until today, rather than post last night (is that cheating? Haha!).

The weather was chilly/cold (40's) and misty, but I'll be darned if that stopped my kids -- and the rest of the neighborhood -- from going out for candy! Just add a layer of clothing and they're good to go! Sean was an Arf Trooper (because Star Wars doesn't just have Storm Troopers & Clone Troopers. No. They have Sand Troopers and Snow Troopers and Scout Troopers and.... I lose track. Sean was an Arf Trooper and I have no idea what that means other than that it's another Trooper.).

Evan -- he wore the pirate costume that Sean wore three years ago, and he pretty much rocked it! He carried a hook and wore a hat and ran around yelling, "Argh, mateys!!!" Except he still avoided having his picture taken as much as he possibly could. So these are the best I got:

We went Trick or Treating with Sophia, as we do every year. And this year, Myra joined us (both girls were beautiful princesses), as well as the 16-month old great-grandson of the couple that lives next door to us (his parents brought him).

Evan and the little boy from next door only lasted a little less than half hour... but they were adorable! Evan would go up to the houses and yell "Candy!" and I would explain to him what to say and he would yell, "Trick or Treat!" Then he'd carry the candy in his hand to the next house, then put it in the bucket to make room in his hand for the new candy, which he'd carry to the next house before putting it in his bucket.... and so on. And really enjoyed seeing the other costumes people were wearing. At one point, there was this kid dressed as a weird jester-skeleton something. And Evan was just following him around going, "Hi Skeleton! Hi! Hi Skeleton! Bye! Bye Skeleton!"  The kid was a great sport and just kept saying hi & bye to Evan.

After I dropped Evan off at home with Dan, I kept going with the older kids for a bit. Myra pooped out by 6:45 (and apparently fell asleep in the car on the way home, which is less than 10 minutes away!). Sean & Sophia were done by 7, in the house by 7:05, and I had both boys in bed at their regular bed times!

Which means Dan & I were raiding the Halloween booty by 8:05 (!)
