Sean was so ready to turn five! He thought starting Kindergarten automatically made him five -- I kept having to explain to him that he was still four until his birthday. Luckily for him, he didn't have to wait long. Only 4 days. And then came September 8th. He stayed the night at Aunt Janet's on Friday night, and apparently when he woke up Saturday morning, the first thing he asked her was: "Am I five now?"
Yes, baby. You're five now. And handsomer by the day.
Height/Weight: He weighed 44.0 pounds this evening when I weighed him. He is just a smidge under 43 inches tall. No idea where that falls in the percentages, but he's healthy and perfect.
Wearing: Size 4-5 in little boys clothes. He still has some 4T's that fit, but I've been putting the 4T's away at this point, especially pants, which are becoming too short. He wears size 10.5W shoes.
Sleeping: He goes to bed at 8pm on weekdays and closer to 8:30-9:00 on weekends. We have to wake him up in the mornings for school (around 6:30am), and on weekends, he'll typically sleep till 7-7:30ish in the mornings. Naps have officially stopped since he started Kindergarten (he wasn't taking them at home anyway, but they still had to put him down for naps at daycare/preschool, and he always slept, not necessarily because he needed the sleep but more because there was nothing better to do for two hours...).
Eating: His favorite thing in the world is still macaroni & cheese. He would eat that morning, noon, and night if given the opportunity. But he also likes peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, yogurt, McDonald's, most fruits, many vegetables (currently he likes broccoli and carrots, but he hates peas...), fish sticks, chicken tenders, and Spaghettios.
Miscellaneous: He's totally into Angry Birds right now. The game, the merchandise, the music.... He's kind of phased out of Cars, though it's not unusual for him to bring out the case of Cars and play with them with Evan now & then. He also likes superheros (Batman, Spiderman, Superman, etc...).
He likes to play games, both on the Kindle, and board games with me (his current fave is Trouble). I love playing board games with him in the evenings.
He draws & draws & draws right now. He's on the Magnadoodle a lot lately, and when he's not writing on that, he's drawing or coloring on paper.
He's signed up for basketball staring in a couple weeks through the Y. It's not competitive -- just instructional. But he keeps wanting to play so this will be a good start for him. He didn't seem too enthused with soccer, although we might give that one more shot in the spring if he wants.
