| Enjoying his birthday cookie, Sept 27th |
WHAT. THE. HECK?!?!
Time for the birthday stats!!
Weight/Height: To be completed tomorrow (I forgot to weigh/measure him yesterday and today).
(Edited 9/29/12: He weighs 29.6 pounds and is 33-1/2 inches, both according to my measurements. His 2-year well-child visit is Monday the 8th so we'll see what the doctor's office says...)
Wearing: Size 18-month bottoms and 24-month or 2T tops. Some of his 18-month pants are becoming short, but most of them are pretty comfortable for him still. He's short, haha! He wears Size 6.5W shoes, and Size 4 diapers both day & night.
Sleeping: He goes to bed around 7:30pm (give or take 15 minutes) and we typically have to wake him up in the mornings for daycare. On weekends, he'll sleep until anywhere between 7 and 8:30am. He also takes a 2-hour nap in the afternoons (sometimes as short as an hour and sometimes as long as 3 hours.... but 2 hours is pretty typical).
Eating: I honestly have no idea how to address this one. Some days he eats anything & everything. Other days, he'll hardly touch anything, despite having devoured it the day or week before. I just put the food in front of him and let him decided whether or not, and how much of it to eat. He's clearly not starving, haha! He does love desserts (duh!) and he's starting to learn that he doesn't get dessert until he finishes his dinner, so sometimes he'll eat only for the purpose of getting his animal cookies or whatever...
Miscellaneous: He speaks in full sentences. Full recognizable sentences for the most part. Those of us who see him on a regular basis know exactly what he's saying almost 100% of the time. And those who don't see him regularly understand him 90% of the time. I don't have many good "Evanisms" as I did for Sean when he was this age, because Evan just says things how they are.
He LOVES reading books! Oh my goodness, he loves them. He'll bring a book and sit on my lap and we'll read it, then he'll get another one and we'll do it again. Then he'll play a bit, then bring another book. And I'll often find him in his room, sitting in the rocking chair with the bedside lamp on, reading a book like we do in the evenings at bedtime.
He likes to dance & sing (I think most toddlers do though). I will admit, I don't think he's nearly as 'on pitch' as Sean was at this age (and still is), but Evan tries really hard and loves to sing songs. And the boy can dance. He moves to the music, bobs & shakes his head, claps.... he truly enjoys the music. I don't remember Sean dancing this much as a toddler. Singing? For sure. But Evan is most definitely our dancer.
It's really hard to get a good picture of him looking at the camera and smiling. Because first, he's SO over having a camera in his face, so much so that he'll often yell, "No! No camera!" when I get the thing out. And second, he's too busy to stop and look at a camera anyway. But that doesn't stop me from trying, haha!
