I foolishly assumed that because the boys did so well last weekend after we returned from vacation -- jumping right back into their regular routine of eating, sleeping, and playing -- that we dodged any hiccups that can happen when kids return from a vacation. Aside from mine & Dan's creepy crud Saturday, I was pretty much doing a post-vacation happy dance.

It was a premature jig.

Evan had a few rough, rough nights this week. Waking up at insane hours... unable to go back to sleep... screaming, screaming, screaming... The kid even developed a crazy diaper rash, which certainly didn't do any favors for his screaming, screaming, screaming. I felt horrible for him because his cries were not just casual cries: they were painful cries.

Sean had a few uncharacteristic behavior issues at school this week which all seemed to come to a head today when he decided to hit his teacher (!!). To top it off, I had to change his bed sheets three out of five nights (and that was with a Pull-Up on!). I haven't had to do that in months & months....

Good times. Good times.

Here's hoping this weekend kicks off a much better week. No sickies. Full nights of sleep (actually Evan only had two or three rough nights -- he's been better these past couple nights). No butt rashes. No hitting teachers. And morning Pull-Ups that weigh less than 5 pounds.
